The Museum of Bags and Purses
has produced various publications
about the bags and its collections
over the course of 20 years

In 2011 and 2015 the museum published the book Bags-Tassen- Bolsos- Sacs, a selection from the Museum of Bags and Purses, Amsterdam contains an overview of the history of the bag from the late Middle Ages up to the present day, with all the featured bags originating from the collection of the Museum of Bags and Purses – the biggest bag museum in the world. Its collection of more than 5000 bags, pouches, cases, purses and accessories, combined with regular temporary exhibitions, reveals the diversity of the bag in terms of its use, form, adornment and material.

This is not a book that you actually have to read. Rather, it’s a feast of artwork for the eye. The photographs of the handbags are extraordinary. Quote of Paula
