Red, brown, and green ‘Kelly’ handbag, Hermès

The Kelly Bag of Hermès premiered in the 1930s and was later named for Hollywood movie star Grace Kelly. In 1956 she became the Princess of Monaco when she married Prince Rainier III of Monaco. In that same year she camouflaged her pregnancy with a crocodile bag made by Hermès. The handbag was popularized as the Grace Kelly Bag. Its successor, the Birkin Bag, is an adaptation: it is wider and more flexible. Hermès designed the bag for the actress Jane Birkin.
