In the 1930s surrealism is at its peak. Designers adapt the movement and since came up with striking innovative and playful shapes and new uses of materials. One example is the clutch in shape of the cruise ship Normandie from 1935. Other exceptional purses are those made in the shape of animals: fishes, dogs, mice, cats and monkeys or in shape of fans, houses and more.
